Overview
With most things, you get what you pay for however, this range is FREE, so, everything you get is a bonus. It’s actually a really nice range. It’s Hot/Cold with no mechanical target machines. If you’re not familiar with a Hot/Cold range, basically the range goes cold aka all firearms are safe & clear, and then you walk down and position your target. It has 50 yard pistol/rifle lanes & 100 yard rifle only lanes. It’s the only indoor 100 yard range I’m familiar with in North Carolina. It’s currently open Friday night, Saturday, Sunday & Monday night. It is a Wake county facility managed by NC Wildlife employees on the weekend. It’s 100% worth checking out.
Cost
Free, but they don’t sell anything. No ammo, no targets, no ear or eye protection rental, NOTHING, so if you need it, BRING IT! Else, be without it.
Reservations
To book a range session visit the Wake County Firearms Education & Training website. You’ll need to show up 30 minutes early on your first visit to go through the safety brief that lasts about 15 minutes. After you finish the brief, you get your range pass and you’re good to go!
